Can't Boot in recovery, droid x running leaked 2.3 gingerbread

    Hi,
I'm trying to boot into recovery to flash something on my DX. but whenever i bootstrap, then boot into recovery it doesnt work. All i get is the boot logo (red M) then instead of going into recovery all i get is a black screen. You can tell it's still on because you can see the back light.

Has anyone else encountered this problem with DX gingerbread?

    Thank you!

Yes, this is because you are using the original version of Bootstrap in GB, which you need to uncheck the USB debugging in Settings-Applications-Development...That will fix it...

Lots of good GB info here:

    Gingerbread Leak FAQs

and make sure you make a backup of stock GB before flashing any other Roms or Themes to it. JIC...

Ahh, many thanks!! I flashed the off screen CRT animation. It's silly, but i love that thing. Your solution worked like a charm. Thanks again!

Had same issue, unrooted 2.3 GB. Boot into Recovery and search key did not work.
Hit UP/Down volume at same time and recovery screen comes up. use up/down to choose option. Use on/off button instead of Camera button to select action.

Hi. Sorry, didn't want to intrude to Motorola. Thought it was a problem of the system. Anyway, I tried as I always did: hold volume down and switch the phone on and yes the phone is rooted. I wanted to restore my nandroid backup, but since I couldn't I did something else and now the phone works. Thanks anyway for your answer.
