Cant connect to home wifi.
I've had this problem for awhile now, my phone just keeps saying obtaining ip address but it never does. Its wep secure but I set the password so thats not the problem. Cant figure out why it wont connect don't have a problem anywhere else.
Ps. Gingerbread rocks.
Ok so I changed my ad-hoc to channel 10, clicked enable auto ip address, and was able to connect... but I actually had no internet connection. Confused.

Ohh you mean take the wep key off and just leave it open? Not sure will try that and post back.
BNB suggested that as a test. If you can connect and it works fine, then you know its a problem with the security setup.. If open works, try using WPA instead. If its a Netgear wireless N router, I never could get it to work with security but once I hooked up and older Netgear G router, no issues...

Changed it to open and got it to work. Yay. Thanks guys. Not too worried about leaving it open only have two neighbors and they are old so not concerned about them hacking into my wifi.
I also can't connect open or at Verizon store on their wifi, even store people can't figure it out. Doesn't really matter,I guess but I should be able to get it and can't,just annoyies me.

This is precisely the problem I'm having. I've searched the net numerous times and the answer always seems to be to eliminate the WEP settings or change it to WPA, but I'd like to know how the heck you do that with a Westel VersaLink Model 327.

Speaking of Verizon (DSL) support, I called them and they offered me their help for $89, or a 10 month subscription at $14 a month. All this on a brand new phone of theirs that doesn't work as it's supposed to. So anyway here I am, I can't even plug the phone into my stereo to hear Pandora because it constantly stalls or fails to upload, while my buddy's iPhone has no problem with my wifi.
