Well after damn near an hour downloading this tiny file... my droid won't install it... says "There is a problem parsing the package"
EDIT: Well now I feel stupid. Saw a download link labled "fast download" on the site. Used it and it finished in less than a second and this file installed just fine. Will be playing for a while
UPDATE: Set up my first simple action. 50m (meter not mile) radius around my house -> enable WiFi. Went for a walk around the block. It turned off when I got to the corner and turned back on when I got back! Positive so far!![]()

There was a thread on this earlier today as well...
Store using the tasker app?
Failure isn't falling down, failure is staying down.
I'm feeling pretty stupid. I don't have a clue how to even start using this app. Went to the dev website and it seems very complicated but then again.....i'm techno challenged. Hope to post something wonderful and fun soon.
I usually won't pay for an app but I absolutely love this one. It is kind of like Locale but much more versatile (and a little cheaper). It has a learning curve but if you take the time to figure it out, your life will be so much easier. Similar to that site's example, my phone is set up to turn on GPS and bluetooth and max ringer volume when ever I put it in the car dock and return the settings when I pull it out. Huge time saver.

I'm at the wiki site now trying to figure out a few simple things. Can't wait to play with this. Love your car dock setup.
I'm definitely giving this app a shot. Thanks for the heads up on this!

hopefully I'll have some time to play with this tomorrow and get some good profiles set up. Will let you all know how it goes! Night!

Yes its quite complicated and overwhelming at first, but after an hour or two playing with it and reading the article from lifehacker, i've got the hang of it. It is a greaaat app

I spent about 20 minutes and had the following setup:
Home Profile (wifi and some other stuff turned on)
Work Profile (wifi, bluetooth, and some other stuff turned on)
Docked (wifi off, bluetooth on, bright screen except at night, and some other stuff)
Screen on (turn GPS on)
Screen off (turn GPS off)
I've noticed that my Work/Home profiles (based on GPS location) don't always trigger properly even though I see the GPS icon up in my notification bar. However, if I fire up GMaps and hit My Location, that tends to kick it in the butt to get working. Kinda strange there...
