What prl did you use?
What did you use for the MIN? I believe you actually need to get this from cricket over the phone.

What did you use for the MIN? I believe you actually need to get this from cricket over the phone.
I called MetroPCS and am using the MIN they provided me. I put in a couple dummy MIN's, including just my phone #, to see if that would change anything, and it disabled my texting, so i know the MIN is good.
The PRL I am using is the "latest EVDO prl" stickied on howardforums.
anyone have any ideas?! =( i'd rather not be stuck with a phone that can't make calls...
Go into the ##program menu, then test mode, then user activation. Make sure the cdma system id matches the one they gave you. It should be one to five digits I believe.

snow -- Thanks a million for the effort into helping me fix this problem!!
i'm near lancaster, PA, and manually set my cdma system id to 96 -- harrisburg, pa. it was what i used before with pageplus and worked fine. is that what is causing me issues?
i'll try changing the sid to one of the ones you suggested and see if that helps. ill look at the thread posts you linked also.

edit: dialing *22804 brings up the verizon activation. the forum you gave me was for someone with cricket, instead of metropcs. I'll change my SID real quick and see if that helps.
edit 2: in test mode, my system ID and network ID are both 8. is that a problem? my SID and NID are supposed to be 96 / 65535. but Idk if in my test mode those are the same things.

You definitely need a five digit sid. I'll find the one for your area. Also, link me to the prl you installed?
