That's not entirely accurate. You can actually fix some electronics by doing, that if they have a bad solder joint. You re flow the solder in a poor mans way, although technically its not a true re flow, but it works. Many people resurrect older video cards on their computer that way. Google baked video card, and you will see. But you need to strip it of all plastic for it to work.

For the X, I am not sure it would be wise for the sake of the screen. If you don't have rice, look in a shoe box for one of those little cellophane packs they come with for soaking up moisture.

How hard it is to change the water sensor's in these phones anyway? You see all those on eBay with the bad ens, if you can change them, pick up a cheap one, and put a fresh sensor in it, if your morality allows it.

Glad to hear this. One of my best friends dropped his phone in a port-a-pond while we were drafting on a fire scene. He grabbed it out and shut it off. Went home after and put his phone in rice left it two days. He still uses that phone today.

Ok, yeah that's true, solder joints were heat treated initially so that's a heat specific procedure. But I was saying its the wrong course of action as a means for drying a device.

I think he was talking about computer components in general. Never put your Droid x in an oven. Lol.
