How to remove skype,vnavigator

    How to remove skype,vnavigator

    My droidx is stock (unrooted) and I wanted to remove skype and Verizon navigator but it wont let me uninstall in the manage apps area of the settings menu. I don't use eithe app and they are always running. Any ideas on how I can remove them?

    You have to be rooted to rename the "bloatware" that verizon puts on the phone. See the guides and how toos in the Hacking and Development section. Some great articles in there!

    And yes, you MUST be rooted to rename "bloatware."

    And always remember to read, read, read, and read some more!

    Thanks for responding . But im not ready to root just yet. I need to do some massive homework first. Unless there a quice fool proof way to do it I may never root

    Then you will never be able to remove the bloatware. Don't be too worried about root; it's true that you can brick your phone if you just start mucking around. But, it simply makes the 'root' portion of your phone available for modification. It's no different than seeing the C: drive on your window computer and then going hunting in your \Windows directory. As long as you don't delete anything critical, you're fine.
