Phone went into safe mode (no clue why)

My phone was freezing up and I had to take out the battery as I have in the past. When I put it back in it went into safe mode with a background I used months ago. Not sure why safe mode went on or the old background shows.

How do I get back to regular mode?

there should be a reboot option, use the volume keys to move and the camera to select
I posted in your other thread about factory reset, this should take care of it

Thanks I will try that but for now can't get out of safe mode. Tried a bunch of things.

Camera function and volume work normally in safe so not sure about ur suggestion.

I'm pretty sure you have to hold the power and home buttons at the same time to bring up that menu. Then you should use your volume rocker to select the re-boot option

Just did a factory re-set still says "Safe Mode" in bottom left corner.

shut it off, hold down home when booting back up, when the triangle pops up with an exclamation point hit the search key, you will be in recovery, select wipe data and wipe cache partition then reboot

How is that different from the factory reset? If I go through those steps that will get me out of safe mode? Will I still be able to dial and make calls basic functionality or would I need to go back to the store?

Why did it go into Safe Mode altogether could it be compromised or dirt got in and it will never be able to be restored?
