This may be a dumb question, but my old storm charger fits my droid. Is there any harm in using it to charge my X on a daily basis?

Shouldn't be. If you want to be sure, check the output voltages for both chargers to see if they're the same. I've been swapping chargers for quite some time Moto Q -> BB Curve....BB Tour -> DX and haven't noticed any problems.
So the connector that fits both phones is called Micro USB and a lot of phone manufacturers are trying to standardize on that to help eliminate waste. The main thing to look at is not the voltage (this is standard for all of these) but instead is the current. Not all USB cables can push the same amount of current through and for THAT reason, not all chargers will be the same.
Our Droid X charger pushes either 800 or 850mA (I forget). I have another charger that pushes 350mA and it's not enough for the phone. I'd expect 500mA would be the minimum you would want to do. It's okay to go higher as this is like the maximum amount the charger can handle, not necessarily the amount the charger shoves down the throat of the phone.

Ok perfect, thanks guys.
my bb charger does 700ma. so im pretty sure it will work for my dx when i get it
For the record:
Droid X= 5.1V/850mA
Storm 1=5V/700mA
Should be alright
^ It is.
I exclusively charge my Droidx on the Blackberry Storm's charger at night. I have had no problems and I been doing it since release day.

As long as the current reading (800mA, 700mA, etc) is above the minimum required (I don't know what this is), it'll work. However, the higher it is, the faster the phone will charge. Note that this is not always a good thing. Lithium Ion batteries like being charged slowly and drained slowly. Faster charges are harder on them. However, I'm not sure it would convince me to use a 700mA over an 800mA charger, but it would convince me to stick with 1000mA (1A) or lower so it doesn't get a bit too excited about charging up quickly.![]()

This is great to know because the droid charger cord is way to short IMO
