Start with low voltage and low frequencies and then move up little by little
Each chip is different, what works for my phone might not work for yours or others for that matter.
I use Jrummy16s OC app but milestone should work fine. I have mine set at 1.2 at ultra low voltage and get good perfomance and battery life.

You have to test different settings and see what is stable for your phone...
check here and see what others have theirs set on JRummy OC 1.45GHZ app

I have been testing it a bit but I hear jrummys app is a lot more stable and powerful than milestone. I just want some advice and opinions before I spend money. also I every one in awhile while my phone will freeze and reboot. is this because my voltage is set too low? im at 1.15 and 60 vsel. I'm also using setcpu. should I switch to jrummys app?

It's not that Jrummys app is more powerful because it isnt in a sense. Both apps pretty much do the same thing.
Both allow you to set frequency and voltage. Your voltage might be set too low or your chip might not be able to handle that freq.
Alot of people can't overclock over 1.1 ghz. It's pretty much just luck of the draw. You can always try out Jrummys app, you can purchase it and get a refund within 24 hrs if you don't think it's doing anything better than the milestone app.

If you get random reboots, chances are it's the overclock speed rather than voltage. I like to set a desired speed say 1.4ghz at stock/medium and if I get a reboot I lower speed. Once a have a stable speed I lower the voltage until I get a reboot then I know my exact ideal set up. I'm not a fan of stress tests, I prefer to use the phone normally and if I get a reboot then I know I need to fix something.

I'm also seeing lots of people with multiple profiles set. I know you use setcpu for that but I'm wondering how you can set each profiles voltage cause you can't do that in setcpu

You can set the voltage manually using terminal emulator or you can buy jrummys app and he has an option for preset voltages or you can make your own.

ok I bought jrummys app and it seems to be working but there is a problem. after about half an hour after setting it it unsets itself and goes back to stock settings and keeps the cpu at 300. why is this happening ?
