    want to reinstall some bloat but can't

    I bought Titanium Backup and tried to freeze some bloatware. The app icons remained but returned "application is not installed on your phone" when clicked. So I decided to uninstall the apps through TB, not knowing that they would be deleted. I have a zip with all the 2.2 apk's. I tried to reinstall the apps I deleted but not all will install. I still have calculator.apk and magicsmokewallpapers.apk that will not install. I moved them to system/app and tried to reinstall through rootexplorer, but it just says "application not installed" after clicking install. I tried it mounted r/w and I tried to mess with the permissions but no joy. This worked for several other apps but not these. I want to get them back on the phone so I can do a proper backup and not have to worry about future os updates. Thanks in advance.

    Either way you'll not be able to get any OTA Updates (Your Rooted)..... Not that its not an easy fix or anything.

    I'm not saying that... I mean I've just kept mine frozen...
    All im saying is your gonna have to go back to 2.2 unrooted either way...
    Just in your case, you'll probably have to go completely back, as in my case I would have to unfreeze and then unroot.
    You do have you're apps backed up with TB, though.... So its not really that big of a deal. Everything else will come back after signing back into you're google account.

    The apps were gone after uninstalling them with TB. I didn't expect the uninstall to delete them as well. I had to find a zip with the 2.2 apps in it, but they wont install. I would like to just leave the bloat or freeze/unfreeze then unroot to update when needed.

    Cliffwalker,

    I had the same problem, rooted, delete some apps, tried to re-install the .apk's of missing apps but some just would not install. I fixed the issue by un-rooting and reflashing 2.2 sbf and back to bone stock. Good luck

    Wrong about being rooted and OTA updates.
    I am rooted and was able to OTA from 2.1 to 2.2. You WILL lose root on an OTA update.
    I have some of the bloatware frozen and that didn't affect OTA.

    @Tech-
    In his situation, with deleting system apps, he's going to have to flash back to bone stock and then use TB to get his apps back. Therefore he will lose his root...
    Now what apps did u have frozen when you updated? I've never heard anyone be able to update with system apps deleted. And when their frozen, your system doesn't read them anymore (like their uninstalled).
