Pictures arent showing up in gallery

Hello i got the Droid X on release date and im loving the phone. I have had an issue with the photo gallery though. I had a Blackberry Storm before this phone and i had all of my pictures/videos put on my computer to save them so i could transfer them to this phone. Well i transfered all of those pictures/video to the DCMI folder on my phone.

Now Everytime i take pictures with my Droid X it sends it to the gallery and then a little while later i'll check back and notice that there are no photos in my gallery. I have to go to the DCIM folder in the phone Files and click on camera to see those photos. The phone is storing the photos in the same place i put my Old Blackberry Storm Photos. Whats the Issue here?

I tried this and it didnt work. All my pictures are still showing up in the DCIM folder in the Phone Files. They wont show up in the Actual Picture Gallery itself. Its really annoying because i can not do anything with these pictures like making them my wall paper or anything.

The same thing happened to me when I added a directory called .nomedia on the root of the SDcard using Astro and moved some photos to it. I corrected it by deleting the .nomedia directory, opening the gallery, noting all the pictures were back, then creating a new directory called .bc in the root of the SDcard (for the original purpose of storing media I don't want in the gallery).
