Slow to load websites and fails to load youtube videos and sometimes phone freezes

I bought my droid x about a month ago. It has updated to android 2.2. I have looked through the forums and not found anything that helps me. My phone has been slow to load anything that has to do with the internet, and most of the time it will not even play a youtube video. My dinosaur of a computer that has windows XP and only accesses the internet through dialup can load webpages and youtube videos faster than my droid x. Sometimes if the internet is slow I press the 'home' button and it freezes my phone. I will then have to remove the battery because thats the only way to turn it off when it freezes. I have alreadt tried toggling airplane mode, removing the battery, clearing caches, and force stop to background applications. I DO NOT WANT TO ROOT MY PHONE, but I do want a better droidx-internet experience. I have only downloaded a handful of apps so far, hopefully they are not the problem, but it wouldnt hurt to know if one of them was the culprit. Any help is appreciated.

Are you on 3g or wifi? and how many bars on 3g if so?

I don't see any apps that should be affecting your phone from that list. My list is ten times longer. Have you tried verizon tech support? Do a battery pull, if that doesn't help goto your browser and clear history and cache. Last resort in my opinion is to do a factory reset? Lot of smart people in these forums wait for some more insight. Good luck

Also for youtube make sure you update to the newest version if you haven't done so.

I would try deleting antivirus. I have read it will ruin your web experience and it isn't needed for android anyways, as there is not any known viruses yet.

Delete the anti-virus.... or at the very least... disable the auto protect. All it's doing is running and wasting resources... there's no 'viruses' in Android (yet) for it to catch.

Malware has shown up in Android, but that has to do with apps and the permissions they're given.

I sometimes have to clear the cache. Not sure why, but it works.

Ive cleared the cache many, many times, but I will give 'disabling antivirus' a try, to see if there is any improvement.

I went to manage applications in the phone settings menu and did a force stop. INSTANT improvement. Thank you so much.
