    Question Root and unroot 2.2 OTA for a new person ... Oneclick root and unroot?

    Ok, I got a droid x yesterday and love it, I use to have an android phone where I could simply root or unroot using androot. I loved this app and was wondering if I could do the something on the x.

    Note I'm VERY stupid so the easiest and best explained method is what I'm hoping for.
    Also all I mainly want root for is wifi tethering and other similar apps not ROM instalation.

    I have seen several "one click" root solutions but have personally not had any success for whatever reason with them. I'm a complete noob as well but I can tell you that if you take your time and follow the instructions you will eventually have success.

    He was looking for a root guide for the "Droid X" so that guide for the "Droid 1" will not help.

    Like he said, make sure your Motorola drivers are installed and working properly first.

    I tried this method on my Vista tablet and got stuck in an uninstall/reinstall loop. But otherwise, it looked pretty easy.

    I'd like to know how to unroot... I'm sending my phone back to VZW and would like to unroot before sending it back. Any ideas?

    Thanks people, I used tomyv post about the one click root. It was pain less!
    Just incase someone else wanting to root through that method be aware that you may have to kip through multiple ways in which you connect like: pc mode, charging mode, windows media mode...
    But in the end ut seems about impossible to mess up.
