First time rooting.... 2.2.1

First time rooter! The other day I was able to SBF from Gingerbread to 2.2.1. Here is my current phone info:

DROID X
Android Version: 2.2.1
System Version: Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US

I'm having a hard time rooting my phone using the "one touch root" apps.

1) EasyRoot - says they support "Android 2.2 FRF91". After I run it, it tells me to restart my phone and it will bring me to the next screen. No matter how many times I launch easyroot, it is always stuck at the first step where it says click to root your phone. I thought rolling my phone back to "Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US" would put me in a version they support, as their website says "N1 support Android 2.2 FRF91". Any ideas?

2) z4root - I've run the "temporary root" a few times and it doesnt seem to let me run dropbox. Any ideas?

If there is a SBF file/Android version that I should be using that is compatable with these apps please advise, and I will flash to that version. Thanks!

Try z4 permanent root (not really permanent). I have never had any luck with temp root.

Z4 often doesn't work the first time. Try a reboot then root again using the permanent root.
