Thank you so much. I have been trying to remember the name of that program for so long. I had it back in the day and then lost it and could never remember the name. Since then I have been looking for it and just finding random replacements that aren't as good. Nice! Thank you. MobaLive is awsome. Now this motivates me to pull some trickery to turn 1KDS's live disc into all inclusive standalone exe. I bet with a some batch script I could pull it off. Off to labs I say... lol.

You know me, I'm always happy to pass on anything I can, when I can.

1KDS and Wug, either way, it's pretty darn easy to SBF with the iso, but if you guys could port this into a standalone, single click SBF from windows, well that would be awesome. Just don't use precious time on it, cause we already need a gingerbread SBF ASAP

BTW Did anyone notice the ad on this page for an addiction clinic, guess there was too much reference to being a SBF junkie

I didn't really sleep last night.. lol. It's uploading now. Double click an exe and it does the rest. This turned out to be a much bigger challenge for me than I originally had anticipated but all in all it was a success and definitely learned a lot in the process.

I couldn't effectively edit the MobaLive program itself because it's not fully open source... well, besides the QEMU vm environment it relies on, so besides going the route of basically trying to rebuild the entire portable program from QEMU source code like the Mobatek devs did, I was faced with the challenge of trying to figure out some way to have the live SBF disc 1KDS put together to first automatically associate itself with the MobaLiveCD program as it's default "open with... " app, and then write script to pass keystroke parameters to the active program windows in attempt to fully automate the GUI navigation of MobaLiveCD itself. Since the standalone MobaLiveCD program lacks the inclusion of any cmd line parameters whatsoever, this truly seemed to be the only way to do it; so the final solution I came up with was a combination of some batch and VBScript (which I kinda suck at) to do all those things. In the end, it really only turned out to be a few pretty short scripts to get the job done, but before I started I really had no idea what I was doing or getting myself into. But the final outcome was actually a success, Hooray! I definitely learned a lot. Looking forward to sharing it and hopefully finding out that it works for others as well. Thank you again Harley Dude for the post, and major thanks/props to 1KDS again for building the majority of it. Will post it shortly.

    Standalone SBF Program - SBFportable_0.5.exe

    Standalone SBF Program - SBFportable_0.5.exe
    - a collaborative effort towards simplifying the process of device restoration
Credits to: 1KDS for the original live linux SBF disc, Mikeinrichmond for helping out with the early release testing of 1KDS's disc, TBH for the SBF file, JRummy for helping 1KDS with some code, the makers of SliTaz linux distro, Harley Dude, for being the man, starting this thread, and letting us all know about MobaLiveCD in the first place, which is what sparked the idea to make this standalone version in the first place. Mobatek devs for the standalone MobaLiveCD, the QEMU people for making and releasing their awesome open source (and light weight) portable dynamic translators which made the MobaLiveCD & ultimately this project possible by providing a completely free and effective way to set up full system emulation within the windows environment. WugFresh... (thats me! ) for figuring out how to mesh all these premade components together into one unified standalone exe. Coffee for being the nectar of life and enabling programmers and crazy people like myself to never sleep and keep working on things like this... regardless of the time. And last but not least, a big thanks to all the DX users out there who keep bricking their devices time and time again! Without your awesomely bold and recklessly induced bricks, there would be no need to spend the time on this project in the first place. LOL. Without complications, there is no need for revisions, so thank you...

Wug you continue to be the man! This is awesomeness! Both you and HD deserve mad props for this for sure. I will hopefully give this a try later, if not I will have to wait two weeks when I get back from vacation.

On the go, expect short answers

And always remember to read, read, read, and read some more!
