Safe Mode

Not sure if everyone knows this, so I thought I'd just leave it here. If you phone goes into a boot cycle due to error, you can restart your phone into safe mode by holding the menu key while powering on. From there you can reboot your phone into normal mode. I'm not sure if this helps for someone who's phone is tripped due to root/rom hacks, but for normal errors it will help.

No it does not help boot loops due to idiots renaming blur ... haha .... BRICK! OOOOPS

95% it's not going to help the bootloops. Most of the time pople have messed with system files, and they are not able to do a factory reset, or even apply the update. It as worked for a few, but for the majority it will not.

I had a ton of problems with my rooted phone after uninstalling key system apps with TI. My 3G was constantly dying after a random period of being up and I was trying to do the update. I reinstalled my missing apps, then did a factory reset and was going into a boot loop. Just at the point of despair I discovered "Safe Mode" totally by accident holding down the menu key during one of the loops and presto!
