Droid X coming in the mail today, update first, or root first?

Does rooting make it so I can't get OTA updates?

you can update and still root. rooting does not block OTA, but you CAN if you want...

Root first and then pull the update files off the phone and post them. They should be in the cache or data dir!

I rooted my X yesterday, but for some reason the update keeps failing every time I try to install it. So I'm not to sure if its a good idea to root first to be honest.

Do you have a decent data connection when it's failing? ...or is it during the actual install that it's breaking on?

its failing during the actual installation, i tried it 5 times so far.

I found out it might be due to me removing so apps like the blockbuster one, and amazon mp3. So Im pretty much screwed I guess lol
