    Memory Management [Root Users]

Since root has been established for us, now we should think about using a memory manager application.

Get MinFreeManager: it's an application that does a great job of changing the system's base memory management parameters so that more memory is available more of the time.

Plus, with some of the bloatware removed (not including all the blur crap), we should have less processes running.

    Cheers!

Don't use auto-killer. Get MinFreeManager. When you open it, hit the options hard button, go to presets, and choose Aggressive. Keeps me at about 150-160MB free at all times.

Just tried it, and you're right. Works better than auto-killer. Will update the OP. thanks!

What exactly is this app doing, just fine tuning the memory management? By chosing aggressive what is getting the short end of the stick?

And what does that do for you?

very informative article... but as it said right there in the article... ghost apps, empty apps do not affect CPU, battery performance... i don't understand why he said after that, "that you should see some UI enhancement"... I would think this benefits more for Sense UI as the article says...

do you see a difference in your phone performance?

    I like his quote..

I want to stress -- there is nothing wrong with the way Android handles this out of the box. It's efficient, works well every time, and keeps things stable. It's our meddling and the need for instant gratification that is the real issue. Waiting .3 seconds longer never killed anyone. But I'm just as guilty as anyone else, and want immediate results too, so let's do it!
    For .3 of a second.....I'll p***
