Awesome, glad it worked for you, make sure you have SU access though, a few times I used Super One Click SU failed and I had to re-root.

It definately worked. Installing Titanium Backup now. One more question, where can I find boostrap? The link on koush's blog is broken.

Should be in the Market for 2$ each for DX and D2 versions (if you are looking to install the latest Gingerbread leak, you will need D2 version, but the OTA will be coming soon, so you might want to hold off unless you aren't patient lol).

Haha, found it. I am not a clever man =P I'm not really interested in the gingerbread leak. I figured I'd grab the OTA when they finally start rolling it out. Figured I'd check out liberty or apex until then =)

Does a nandroid backup with bootstrap save all your apps and data as well?

Apex is one of my favorite ROM's for 2.3.340, great amount of Blur and AOSP, a great first time ROM for someone like you. When you feel comfortable with ROM's, give Liberty a try, all AOSP with endless customization!

Yes, that is the point of making nandroid backups, to save all of your user app data. Careful though, when on different ROM's, you don't want to restore too many system apps and system app data as it could cause some conflicting erros, always make sure to restore user app data only (like angry birds and other games and non-system apps). Most system app data is usually re-synced with your Google Account and any email accounts you may have used prior.

Thanks for the help. Making a nandroid right now

Ok. I came to this page through a suggestion in my thread "Facebook + Dolphin + Smart keyboard Pro = issue somewhere"

I downloaded the z4Root. I opened it up and took a look at what was goin on and it said "BusyBox" will also be installed. What is that and why?

I've never rooted my phone and I don't have all the other apps people talk about having when rooting their phone... what do I need? I think I'd like to stop bloat-ware. I have ES File Manager, will that be helpful?

Busy box is needed, so don't worry about it, unless you know Linux commands, it just runs in the background. Other root apps require busy box to run.

You will need a specific Root File System explorer, I use the app Root Explorer, best root file system explorer in my opinion. There are a few sticky threads around here that will point you in the right direction of knowing what root is all the terminology is. A lot of helpful guides around here as well.
