ya i can see myself adding a bunch of stuff i don't really want as well. and noob question didn't look hard but i have to download a rom like fissiion in order to use 3g hotspot now correct? or will it work now?
honestly i don't care if it is the 3g hotspot or just the wireless tether. i have more info to look up on both of these but this is the main reason i rooted. whatever is easiest or better.

There is no need to install it on custom roms because you already have root permissions. You only need z4 on your sd card for future use after an .sbf flash back to stock motoblur android.

You can use wireless tether and barnacle from the market for hotspot. They work on any rooted phone. Make a backup using droid x bootstrap. The how to is in my signature.

Personally I use Wireless Tether, it works well for me.

Once downloaded where does the apk file need to be moved to, when I first got z4 it was on the market so I didn't have to have it everytime I flashed something. I want to flash rubix again and know I have to DL it to install again but where to put it?

You might have to try it several times. It can make some people a little nervous to battery pull, but I havent seen any issues with people having to do this multiple times.
