    Completely New. I always used droid-life for a reference to root my droid. I'm not really sure how this works and I'm sure you guys will ask me why the hell I'm on here if I have no idea what I'm doing. I'd like to learn. I have a mac, but I have a windows virtual machine on my bootcamp program. I went to the android debug bridge site and downloaded the quick start guide and i'm trying to follow birdmans instructions, but for some reason every time i click on adb application it just opens for a split second and then closes. I tried to run the SDK setup and the same thing happens..I tried the "run as.." and it says " get temp file name failed and directory invalid"... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? lol

    One week and root has been obtained. Nice work birdman!!! Let the themes and modding begin. As soon as someone does a black notification bar and pulldown I am gonna give it a go.

    Awesome! i had a rooted d1 and loved it. some of moto's garbage has been bothering me on this otherwise amazing machine, so i'm glad to see this. i'm not very technologically skilled and was only able to root my d1 because of the very detailed instructions on droidforums.net, so hopefully someone can make a 'how root for dummies' guide. thanks and congrats to all who have worked on this, i for one truly appreciate your hard work and dedication. and btw, what is adb?

    very nice work!

    Sadly for W7 it seems that the necessary file needed to install adb isn't available atm. I get the "don't have enough privleges" error so I can't download adb to install :/
