    Droid X Dropping Wifi?

Hello everyone, I have come here wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem i am.

Every time I connect to wifi, it stays connected for a minute or so. Ill browse the internet for about 1 minute and then suddenly the wifi icon disappears and no more internet. I have to turn wifi off and then on again for the problem to be fixed. Anyone know whats wrong?

    ^ +1 I dont have any issues.

OP are you experiencing the same problem on other wireless devices? If not Turn off all other wireless devices and see if that fixes it. If it does it points to your router not being able to handle more connections.

^ Same as you, I have full signal when at the home screen and i go to market or browser and try to refresh the page when a network error screen pops up. When that pops up, the wifi pic disappears and I lose my internet.

I had this problem when I first took my phone off the charger, check your battery profiles. They are set to prolong battery life, try switching those. It worked for me.

    Hi,
The problem I'm running into seems to be inconsistent. When @ home my connection is great, no problems. This is true in every case except once. In this case I simply power-cycled my router and, bam, no more problems. When out and about, however, I sometimes encounter the problem that's being described here or the following. At times, my DX will recognize the router I'm visiting, will attempt to connect (whether open or remembered passkey), then will simply disconnect. I can then 'Forget' the connection & re-establish it from scratch, or even after rebooting my DX, but reconnecting to the router doesn't change anything. Therefore, I'm perplexed, but don't know enough about the Android OS to find some sort of connection logfile that might point me towards a solution. Even then, I'm not sure there is access to such a logfile without root access (if it exists). And I'm not sure I'm willing to root my phone to find a solution here. It seems like there should be a more user-friendly solution, especially since my DrOS mojo is not so advanced yet. So I'm also not sure if this is a defect-level problem, or just a major annoyance. Any further insight is much appreciated and welcomed in advance. In the meantime, you can find me skulking about the various topics and forums looking for answers.
    Namaste,
    SscoootzZ
