Nopec, I dont mean to hijack your thread...but maybe someone can give us both some help with our battery issues.
I know... the battery sucks. I am very frustrated with mine. Here are some of my issues, any suggestions would be appreciated.
1. When at work, I use the leather case I got from Verizon. It has a magnet closure. Anytime I take it out after having been there for awhile, I have almost no connection and I have to reboot to get it back. However, the battery is still running down. At the end of a 9 hour day, I am getting the low battery warning. (less then 15% left) This was in performance mode.
2. When at home, and out of the case, I can get two days from the extended battery with virtually the same usage and the same settings.
3. I deleted BW weather and clock. Its very frustrating that you cant use some of the common apps without killing your phone.
I have Battery Left on it, but it doesnt seem to make sense. It doesnt seem like it reads the actual battery, just what it expects for me to do.
Spare parts works, and it shows that its not always running which is good.. but the battery sure doesnt act like it.
Today I switched to battery saver mode again. The issue with this is that when I check it, it takes so long for it to check my emails etc, that I dont have time to reply if needed when on a break from work. I guess I can try airplane mode too. but I like being able to pick up the phone, see any missed messages and then be able to reply immediately instead of having to wait to check them and show any new messages.
I love my phone, but this battery issues sure takes much of the fun out of it.![]()

Get rid of the Magnet pouch, The magnet is most likely keeping the screen on in dock mode.

Do you have a task killer installed? If so uninstall it....it is helping to kill your battery.

Don't use a case with a magnetic closure on it. The DX uses magnets to launch the Car Home menu, and the Media Dock screen when put in the respective cradles. Having a magnet near the phone will make the phone think it is in one of those cradles and it will activate those features.
As for BW, I used that since day 1 with my D1, and it was one of the first things I installed on my DX and it doesn't hinder battery performance.
I would delete your battery monitor app. They never seemed too accurate to me, and the app/widget itself uses up some of your battery.
I intend to live forever. So far so good.
Thanks for all the info.
No, I dont have a task killer.
Yes, I will get a different case.
Katherine I will check out that link when I get home tonight.
Oh.. and I will reinstall my BW clock and weather! I was really missing it!
Thanks all... and norpec, I hope some of those suggestions will help you too!![]()
i noticed that charging with the USB cable hooked up to a PC (or similar output current) gave me a better charge and the phone seems to last longer as opposed to using the ac adapter.
but this method seems to take much longer.
Interesting. I have not tried to put a full charge onto my DX from a computer. It only stays connected to my computer for as long as I am transferring files and data to and from the SD card. I will definitely give it a shot, and since I charge my phone overnight, the length of time it takes to charge is a non-issue...so long as it doesn't take longer than 8 hours to charge lol.
I intend to live forever. So far so good.
I almost always charge via USB. I get 25-28hrs of moderate use (not many calls but wifi on all the damn time as well as flash browsing). Not sure what's up with other people. I can't wait to see the battery life with undervolting on 2.2.
I can't complain about my battery life whatsoever. One full charge easily gets me through my day using the phone to my personal needs.
I still do everything I can to maximize battery life for the "just in case" factor.
I intend to live forever. So far so good.
