Question Is it possible to use the MB810 CDMA phone with GSM-SIM card?

    Hi.

A US friend gave me a Verizon Wireless MB810 CDMA (I suppose it's a CDMA one since I don't find any SIM card slot) and I wonder if it's possible to insert a GSM-SIM card to use it in Europe: any kind of hacking, etc.

Short answers like "no" are also welcomed :-)

    Thank you in advance!

Sorry. Not possible. The Droid x can only be used on CDMA networks. There is no similar card slot.

The DROIDX doesn't have a GSM radio. I wish it did tho. The only way is to give it major surgery to give it a different radio but its probably illegal to do at least on Verizon's terms, but its really risky . Hardware isn't something that just anyone should mess with. Although I would love to learn Droid restoration (similar to car restoration but its Droids instead) I would just have to find a friend with a DX to use as a scrap phone. Just like with people and animals Droid surgery has Xtremely high risks maybe even worse than human or animal surgery. So if you want a DROIDX to use overseas you would have to get a milestone X on a different carrier which I'm not sure of the costs of it. You could get it on prepaid probably. The Milestone X is the non Verizon European version of the DROIDX. It looks identical to the DX but some of its guts are different including the radio
