    Is .621 worth the upgrade?

So I've been keeping my eyes on Rootz and apparently an exploit has been found to root the DX on 621 without the Milestone X SBF method.

My question is, is it really worth it to take the update? I was fortunate enough to find my DX in Feb and it was still on the 602. I am currently running the .605 with .15p radio and CM9.

I know that there was a new kernel and a few improvements like battery life, the radio, and maybe a few "stability" fixes, but I like having the ability to go back to froyo (not that I run it anyways). Any thoughts?

The only advantages to .621 vs .605 are the radio and the kernel. Since you've got the radio its just a matter of whether its worth it to have the kernel. Its a bit snappier than the .605 kernel.

I really don't know. I wish I had two DX's for comparison. There are probably more people running ICS on the .605 kernel than the .621 since most were hesitant to take the update.

one thing to think about... all the roms that are out... are built for 602/605... not for the new changes brought by 621... so... if your wanting to stay on a rom... no.. while yes their's root and what not... there's not much development as far as roms for that build.. with my x... i only updated threw roms... or unless i had to...(like when cm7 came out...) i was on it on froyo... then when it got built off of the new 602.. only then did i update to the ginger kernel... so as far as with the roms out... it's best to stay on what their being built off of..

Most all ROMs work on 621 that work and on 605. Some just need patching.

So I took the .621 plunge and flashed CM9 (which a lot of the modules are actually from the .621 from what I've gathered) and I'm not looking back. It's running smoothly and quite possibly better than before.

Mediafire has known issues with phone downloads I believe. I'd try it from PC. I've heard of others reporting phone download issues.

You are correct. Lots of modules of the more recent ROMs are taken from 621, including BT and some other stuff. Your thoughts are the same as mine were (and newmanx too probably) it generally feels a bit faster/snappier. Its something that's hard to prove decidedly though; its just a general feeling to the UI.
