What is the latest and greatest stable rom out there today for the droid x?

A few months shy of 2 years old and after running about 1 1/2 years rooted and over clocked on liberty rom, my droid x is dieing. The screen is getting black streaks, the charger port is getting picky and I have to find the right spot to make it charge, and it is starting to need a hard reboot to unfreeze more often.

Luckily for me, verizon messed up and sent me a second droid x for free (double ordered ) & I have that as a NIB replacement.

After speaking to a verizon rep at the store I was told the only way to keep my unlimited data was to bring my own phone in or continue using my current phone. With this in mind, I need to stick it out with verizon until.the end of november when I am out of contract to see if I jump carriers to sprint and get a new phone.

I was going to use liberty 2.0, but I see that it is no longer supported by the developers. I think I am running liberty 1. Something now, so I am pretty sure anything will be any improvement over what I am running now.

Well why aren't you changing DXs if you have two?

And if you're on liberty 1 then you'll have to updated to GB 605 (best bet would be sbf) and then flash a from of your choic. The only one that is continually updated through the developer is MIUI however I personally find that one to unstable for me. So you're options for being stable and latest and greatest are near impossible. But stable wise liberty is the most stable for me but others will say vortex.

But for now you should back everything up and then get to 605

Ahhh okay I gotcha now.

But really there's no way to tell which one suits you best unless you try them.

As for development its nothing like when the X first came out.

And now there are 2init roms which are generally less stable but performance is through the roof and much much more customizable. These include AOKP gummy liquid and so on
But the 1init roms are the regular roms and much more stable and better on battery life. These include roms like liberty apex vortex and so on.

But again you can't base it off my experience blah blah blah haha just gotta try them out.

Hahaha oh my gosh.. I got here when liberty 1.0 for froyo dropped.. and that was forever ago.

But yes liberty 2 v2 (liberty 2 is for gingerbread and the v2 is only because it was updated) is a major improvement over liberty 1.0

I personally have the vzw DX flashed to Cricket and I was running Liberty v3 2.0 11/28 build and loved it. After some fighting and waiting, I finally managed to get CM9 (Android 4.0.4) running flawlessly with the exception of normal broken ICS on Moto things.

If you don't mind not having Flash, only having partial video playback (some codecs are still borked but getting so much better), and a bit of battery issue (which I use rom toolbox to set cpu profiles to cancel this out), then I personally recommend CM9, but Liberty is probably the best of all the roms I have tried as far as stability and usable features, but I love CM9 and use it as my daily driver.

Vortex, liberty and wizards MiUi. There is also a new version of vortex that has some elements from liberty worked in. Haven't played with it but worth a look probably.

MIUI 2.3.7 has still been best IMO.

DirtyDroid got me running MIUI, since then i have flashed 4 other ROMS and i keep going back to MIUI.

I have also noticed that MIUI the 2.3 ver is very snappy. For a old phone with milage MIUI still makes the X feel speedy.

JMO though
