Selling DX, Need To Wipe

I have an old rooted DX that I used before I got my RAZR Maxx. I am going to be selling it to a friend and want to ensure that all of my personal data is removed before I sell it.

I don't recall what version of Android I was using, but I think it was the lastest that was released from Verizon, as I used OTA Rootkeeper to retain root when I upgraded, at like the end of March or start of April.

A factory reset would return to stock and remove root access, along with ALL data on the phone, making it irrecoverable, right?

Is it possible to wipe the SD card as well? If I remember right, that can be done from CWM, but I don't remember if it can be done in factory recovery mode.

Factory reset will remove your data, but not root. Easiest way to remove root would be to SBF. You could just format the sd card from the phone or by hooking it up to your computer.

Thanks, I don't know why I didn't think of SBF. I'll do that tonight.

Make sure to choose the right sbf. If you are on .621 you will brick if you try and go back down to .605 or lower.
Just format the SD card to wipe it. Can be done through settings/ SD card.
