Nevermind i suppose this is it. I didn't realize he was a user here. MIUI.us DefX 2012.3.23

But excuse my ignorance, is this just an update or does it work stand alone.
And If I'm correct my steps right now would be:
    1. Get DX Bootstrap
    2. Use DX Bootstrap to root phone - [HOW TO] Use Droid X Bootstrap
    3. Download Wizard's GB MIUI
    4. Use DX Bootstrap to install
    5. Then deal with apps.

Sound about right? Also i know i got a few suggestions for apps but can anybody else think of any essential utility type apps that would help me make my phone run better? Thanks again everybody...

There's more to rooting than that. First thing we need to know is your system version. Go to Settings->About Phone and get that info and post it.

If your on the ota. 605 update I would say to use Droid 3 one click root method, and I would also suggest making a sbf disc using the Linux version.

ok i get my phone tomorrow... I know i am not getting the SD card that came with the phone... so my question is, do i NEED an SD card for my phone to function properly? I know i've seen apps like FBreader that says to put downloaded books into sdcard/books... but would that mean i couldn't just put them in my internal storage until i spring for a new SDcard?

In sure you could.. but then moving all of the data back over is going to be absolutely horrendous.

Bean's 2.6.1 ICS miui is awesome as well. Its getting better and better with each update. But for flat out stability, compatibility and fantastic features you just cant go wrong with Wizards miui. Imo its the best all round gb rom there is. The dev support is the best and like miui isc its not a beta. (Miui us versions)

My ICS melted...my GB got stale. Back on Darkslide and loving it!

Will rooting my phone make it faster?

I don't really see any reason to root except for that.
