Does the capacity of the SD card affect the speed of the processing?

I removed the 16 GB SD card and swapped in my 4 GB SD card because it has ALL THE PICTURES I'd taken with my last phone, which I can't transfer to my DroidX (or can I?). Will this slow things down as far as processing, computing, etc? I haven't gotten Android 2.2 yet.( My son in California got it on his Droid(predecessor to the DroidX)a few days ago.What's the holdup?)

The only thing that affects the speed of a memory card is the class of it. I believe the 16gb is a class 4. The higher the number the faster the read/write speed it. Fastest I've seen a MicroSD is a class 10.

The X won't see 2.2 'officially' until sometime in September.

The size of the SD card isn't what determines speed, it's the Class of SD card.

Either way, you really shouldn't notice a difference.

(why not transfer all the pictures from your 4gb to your 16gb? )

I think you will see a difference but not in computing, processing, etc. It slows down loading pictures and reading/writing to the card. There is a reason they put a bigger, faster MicroSD card in this phone.
