I just did the .621 root. question, do I now have the new .15 radio, or do i still need to flash the new radio? thanks
If you were on .621 you should have it. Check Baseband in About Phone. It should end with 15p.

after the 621 root, i did the kernel patch, it was suppose to upgrade my kernel from 604 to 621
after the kernel patch, my system version is still at 4.5.604.... and my kernel version is at 2.6.32.9
is this correct? thx
once on the .604 milestone can i sfb to the .605? havent messed with my x in a long time![]()
DX2 eclipse with some tweaks
If you came to .604 from .621 then no, you cannot SBF .605 or any other previous versions. You cannot go backwards from .621.
After flashing the .604 to .621 image your kernel should look like this. Don't worry about whether it says DX or MX. As long as your kernel matches your good to go.

I was looking around the interwebz for more info on my X and researching whether I should finally take the .621 and I found this on Rootz... Apparently a root method similar to one being used on the D2, D2G, and R2D2 is also working for the DX and DX2. Luckily it simplifies the process of rooting the .621 as you no longer have to do the Milestone X sbf. Worth taking a look at if you're on the .621
[Root] Droid X root method for 2.3.4/ 4.5.621 (does not require Milestone SBF) - Droid X - RootzWiki
Thanks Aptiva. We're aware of that method. We're waiting for one of the staffers here on .621 to give it a try so we can make sure everything looks peachy (there was a person or two at Rootz who were having issues with CWM after flashing it). If everything looks peachy we were going to update appropriately. I would test it as my old DX was on .621 (that was actually the intention of me going to .621 initially was so I could test and hack into it as there were very few developer-types on it early when root was first being sorted on it) but my old DX got passed off to my sister as she broke her Droid 3.
Anyways, as I said once we get some confirmation I'm going to update the OP as appropriate. Until then, the MX SBF is the old but goodie, and still pretty simple. It just takes longer than that new method potentially would.
Goose, I may give that new method a go this weekend to see if it works. I've been curious about it myself.

I think I'm going to update my phone from the 605 to 621. Personally, I've been having issues with CWM even on the .605 lately, but I'm not sure if the problems are related. Been having my phone stick on the boot logo when trying to get into recovery from my rom and if I try to use the boot menu, it sticks on a black screen both cases resulting in a battery pull.
EDIT:
After some deliberation, I decided that I will in fact take the .621 via RSD Lite. Push comes to shove, I will do the Milestone SBF process if the newer method doesn't work. I'm going to make a video of the new root process and put it up on Youtube if one of the DX pros like Goose would be interested in seeing it.
