Hey there,
So I had a question...
I updated to 621 a while ago, but I had Voodoo RootKeeper, and I still have root on 621. Is it possible to flash a rom (I wanted to use MIUI in specific) while on 621? Or do I have to do the linux method and go back to 604 and then flash MIUI?
thanks

Getting root with 1KDS ezSBF was fairly easy, but wifi was broken. Trying to apply the kernal and wifi patches was hard, since this is my first time, I didn't even know what cwm stood for. But I got the ROM manager app and rebooted into recovery, and followed the install instructions here: [ROMs] Multi-ROM Thread - Blur-Based ROMs for those on .621/.604!
But on reboot, I am stuck at the Motorola loading screen... Please Help!
I redid the SBF, and just flashed the stock rooted ROM: [ROMS] Droid X 4.5.621 Stock Rooted ClockworkMod Flashable Updates by kY - Droid X Development - RootzWikiNow I'm on rooted 621 and everything appears to be working. Will flashing the 2nd init rom's still work from here? Can you point me in the right direction for where to find them?
Thanks!
nvm ...

Hello everyone,
Hoping to get some help: I followed the ezSBF method above, and successfully SBF'ed to .604 Milestone X. I also used the on-disc rooting program, which seemed to run successfully. However, when I check for root using SD Maid or Root Check Basic, I am told that I do not have root. Superuser is installed, but apparently is not working.
I had successfully rooted the phone prior to taking the .621 OTA update, and after the update Superuser didn't work anymore, though it was still installed. Could the fact that the phone had been previously rooted have anything to do with its inability to be rooted now? Or is there something else I can try? I'm pretty much totally new to rooting, etc.
Thanks in advance for your time and help!
Run the SBF again but only do option 2 to root and see if it works then.

Edit: My question about radios was answered in the OP. I just went back and re-read it.
Thanks for this SUPER informative thread also! I would have been flashing first init ROMs and bricking my brother-in-law's DX without a clue as to why (old, .605 kernel)!
