Upgrading my X (ROM, battery & case): Suggestions/insights?

So it took me forever to actually get around to doing the things I set out months ago to do here, but I wanted to post a thanks for the insight here.

Ultimately, I went with Vortex Reloaded, and holy hell I didn't even realize this phone was capable of so much awesomeness!
I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate it, but it's coming along well.

I went with the Trident Kraken case. I really like the looks and security of the case, however I'm going to drill the mic hole a little larger. I get complaints from people I'm speaking with that I sound muffled all the time with it and have to take the case off to remedy the issue. It's an easy fix, just a bit annoying. I actually ordered two of these cases and found the issue to occur with both.

The battery option I went with was to simply get two standard batteries and a wall charger to charge one separately. Keeping one in my wallet is a viable solution for me, and worth it

I use AOKP. once I like a ROM I stay with it until something better comes out
