Round Black Dot or Spot on Screnn

Recently one of our DroidX's has started to display a round black dot about 1/2" in diameter on the screen, bottom right corner. Perfectly round. Shows up on all screens, all apps, dialer, etc... landscape and portrait modes.

Anyone have a similar problem or have a clue what it is caused by?

Not that we could think of. But it is carried in my wifes purse which is not always treated that gently.

That's going to be my guess. The only way to be for sure is to completely wipe the phone. Really its not even worth losing all the data just to know if its been damaged. I would go into your local Verizon store and tell them exactly what happened and they will probably replace it.

You can also try taking a screen shot... If it didn't show up... It's the screen

That's a good idea.. atta boy nemo.
Go into the market and download screenshot er. its hit and miss but it'll be the easiest way to get one.

Thanks. Great idea. I will try it tomorrow when I have access to the phone.

My first thought was to wipe the phone and see if it took care of it but that is a much better idea.

Guess it must have been dropped or bumped hard somewhere along the line. I can see it on boot up. I can see it when I go into recovery. Has to be hardware.
