GO LAUNCHER SUCKS ASS! That's my opinion now. The icons had to reload constantly, the launcher made my phone run slow as hell, took forever to open apps, AND NOW MY SCREEN IS BLACK AFTER UNINSTALLING THE P.O.S.

Don't they have issues? I thought certain functions on the phone don't work right with them. If so, what is the point of getting them?

What are the benefits of rooting?

And like I asked before, will that void my insurance policy with Verizon? Or does it only void the warranty with Motorola?

I did it because the screen was black and I couldn't access anything on my phone. I didn't want to look for a solution online that would require any effort because I'm busy right now.

And I do have some experience with rooting and using custom firmwares. But that was on the PSP back in the day. I haven't tried it with my phone because my phone is far more valuable to me than a PSP and I don't want to brick it (which I know from my PSP days was very possible to happen. Didn't to me though)

I had to factory reset because my screen went black after uninstalling Go Launcher.

And if I rooted my phone, what happens when if I need to send my phone in due to an issue. Won't my insurance be voided?

And what is the best OS for a rooted DROID X?

Ok...When you root you grant system access (running a computer in administrator mode=root vs. guest= non root)...And if you needed to send it in to completley remove any trace of root, would be an sbf. Link in my sig with video, sounds intimidating, but only takes 20 min. As for the best Rom for the X running Gingerbread is really hard to say..Its a big personal preference thing. If I were and just trying, Trying again. I would run Vortex. That rom just simply works end of story, great all around rom..if your willing to give it a shot, people are willing to help here.

Does the ICS ROM work good? Is it stable? I used the ICS theme with Go Launcher and I loved the way it looked. Just hated how laggy and slow everything was. Also, can you customize the look with these custom ROMs like you can with Go Launcher?

Yes, It will void your Contract...but if you have problems with your Phone...we SBF our Phones back to stock like it just came out of the box...Don't let that be a factor...This Forum has Baled me out of more Crap then I can Post...Be Open Minded you mind experience the Unknown of what the Dev's do for working their way to being Corporate Guru's some day...It not Perfect but it is sure Awesome...

I've used go launcher when I was running stock gingerbread ROM it ran great. I'm now using it on vortex and still great .I even underclock my phone and it still runs great. Never have had any lag with it ,even running phone at top speed of 700mhz

Listen to persuader he is right .I was scared to start with but can tell ya once you root ROM your device it a like getting a new phone...you could not pay me money to run bone stock again

if you want my honest opinion, don't use that one..if your going to flash again, i would highly suggest vortex, until you get the hang of things. ICS is only beta 3 i believe, so issues are known. and yes you can customize the looks, an Awesome themer Wulf, just re-released a bunch of themes again for vortex...pretty sweet..
