Battery Life
For all who complain about battery life...
This is my battery life...
I currently have a weather bug widget, 2 facebook widgets, a few quick contact widgets and a google calendar agenda widget.
since last charge I have used the phone for some web browsing, some texting, some facebooking, some phone callse and a few vids on youtube some gaming and some google navigation.
There is still some battery power remaining.

Not to be nit-picky, but the term "some" has an inherent ambiguity to it. "Some" to you might be different than "some" to me. If you could give a more detailed report of how many texts you sent/received, how many calls you had, and about how long they were, how long each browsing session was etc, that would be very helpful.

i guess what i was trying to get at is some people say that don't do anything on their phone and the battery drains.

Ah I see. I think many of those issues have been resolved now (a big one was GPS was staying on all the time which absolutely kills the battery), and setting a data timeout during the hours when you're not using the phone (mainly when you are sleeping) so it's not constantly transmitting and receiving data.
Good work on over 48 hours on one charge though!

you've either got a fluke, or your definition of "some" usage is next-to-nothing, as previously stated
i used to get about 8-9 hours before mine would croak, and that was with minimum brightness, a facebook app, gmail sync, gps/BT off, bout 3-4 hours of mp3-playing time on minimum volume, ATK in the background, 100-150 txts for the day, and about 20-30 min of browsing the web.
just got the extended battery though, and it's definitely worth the investment. that same amount of usage now has me at like 20-30%, probably higher in reality considering i haven't let it go to 0% just yet. have also removed ATK on the recommendations of everyone here, and it seems to have made a difference as well..

Today was the first real test I put my battery through.
I took the phone off the charger around 6:45am today, got a brief call at 7:15, sent 3 texts, rooted my phone (not sure if that takes extra battery or not), then used the stock music player hooked up to car speakers via an aux. cable for my entire 4 and a half hour drive I made today. During the drive, I also had 3 calls lasting about 10-12 minutes each. After I got back home, I had a 20 minute phone call (the main battery user for today was voice calls), sent a few more texts, checked Facebook via the older version of the app (I never updated when I heard about all the issues with the new versions), deleted some emails, had a short text conversation with a friend (about 25 messages were exchanged), a short phone call (about 4 minutes), another facebook check, and about 5 more texts sent, and I haven't even dipped into the orange on the battery icon yet. I then unrooted (again, not sure if that eats up any extra battery). I'm at 15 hours since last unplugged, Voice Calls claiming 58% of the battery usage for today, 25% for display, 14% cell standby, and 5% idle.
I also accidentally left Wifi on for the whole drive home, so I'm sure it was searching for Wifi constantly (the drive was all country roads, so it probably had a pretty hard time finding any connections).
I'm going to run the battery down to about 10% tonight, as I heard doing that every once in a while has increased battery performance (although I am more than happy with my 15 hours considering I was using the phone a bit more than normal today).
I intend to live forever. So far so good.

Me either. I have always been able to get a days worth of usage out of my battery. Today was probably the hardest I've pushed my phone, and it JUST went into the orange on the status bar battery icon. Since my last post, I had a 10 minute phone call to VZW cust. service, checked some stuff out on My Verizon (which is what warranted the call to cust service lol), and sent and received about 10 texts.
I'll probably end up getting the bigger battery sometime soon, but I can easily make it through a full day without even getting close to it needing a charge.
I intend to live forever. So far so good.

Hey guys. Been following battery threads all over the forums, trying to figure out how to make mine last longer. I also have tried everything, auto brightness, no gps, no wifi, no updating widgets...etc. Never was I able to make it to 6pm without plugging it in with "normal" usage (I know "normal" is ambiguous but I wasn't doing anything crazy). Seeing such a difference in people's experience I realized that it can't be what's running on my phone, it's gotta be the battery itself. Took it back into Verizon yesterday and they swapped it out--no fees no problems and now I'm getting the same results most people are: Using it all day and never getting close the dreaded, "15% message". Took it off the dock this morning at 8am and it's still in the green at 1:30am. I advise anyone that is having poor battery experiences to take it in and get a new battery. I think this solved everything.
