I have looked and I am trying to find a way to save certain text messages. Like when my son returned safely from Fallujah in Iraq, or a special message from my daughter to me that I want to keep. Any help would be appreciated.

In Handcent, you can lock the msg which will save it from being deleted when you clear your inbox. However, if you are wanting a more permanent save, there are several SMS backup apps in the market - I posted a link here from appbrain.com...
