8 GB of internal memory... what's the point?

Ok, so today my SD card decided to quit on me. Am I upset? Yeah, but stuff happens, so I just decided to order a new one today and get by without an SD card for a few days while it comes in. I figured that I could use my internal storage that was advertised as a great feature on the X while I wait for my new card. Unfortunately, not only can I not save personal files on the internal memory, but there are many apps that won't function at all without an SD card.

So my point is...what's the point of 8 gigs of internal storage if we can't even use it?

Old thread, but just so everyone knows, I have had ZERO problems using root explorer to move files from the sd card to the internal storage. I have it filled with 8 movies, and my sd card has several more movies and 5gb of music. MX player recognizes and plays the movies with no problem and I have never had a problem with force closes, slow phone ect.

What is root explorer? Do you have to root the phone to use it? Is there a way I can access and use my internal storage without rooting the phone? Thanks!

Root explorer is root file browser, no you don't have to be rooted, but functionality is very limited. To view system files and partitions, you need to be rooted.

And always remember to read, read, read, and read some more!

Total commander sees the internal storage just like root explorer and is a great tool. If you know it from PC use you know what a nice program it is. But as stated above you can only get into certain folders without rooting but you still can put things in there I believe.

when i copy a small movie(about 100M) to the internal storage through root explorer, this method indeed works,MX Video player could identity and play it nomally. But when i copy a large one(about 700M) to it,processing about 145M,my droid x reboot automatically.I've try several times,my phone always reboot when copying above 100M.

Is there a way to copy large movies to internal storage? Thanks in advance!

Es file manager does this for free. I believe rom toolbox will as well, but i use the donate version so I'm not sure if the free version can.

Just pulled my SD card and Camera 360 says I can't save pics without SD card. Whats the workaround, and is there a way to delete apps without rooting(such as Madden 2011).
