Failure isn't falling down, failure is staying down.
All i can say is if your not 100% sure and comfortable with what your doing.DON'T DO IT! I have done extensive research and have experience with an adv shell. There is more to the one click root. I live in texas and have made over 150 dollars today doing what i do. So take what i say into consideration.
I solely prefer USB tether. I use the free version of PDANet along with OpenVPN on my laptop. The secret it to connect to ur OoenVPN server after the connection with pdanet is established. At that point, a secure connection is established which also uses ur anonymous DNS server. Now, PDAnet and Verizon will only see encrypted packets going to and from only a single IP address.
This completely bypasses needing to pay for the full version of pdanet because when the OpenVPN connection is established, pdanet cannot prohibit u from going to secure sites using HTTPS.
Did I mention it would be 100% impossible for verizon to find out u were tethering with this method? Well, they wont be able to tell unless they can crack 2048bit RSA and 256 bit AES encryption

If Verizon were to tell me I was tethering illegally using PDAnet, I would ask them why it's in the market. I didn't know. I just downloaded it and used it. To me it's the same as them wanting to sell you VZ Navigator when you already have Google Maps.
If Verizon had control of the Goole Market, you'd better believe that PDANet would "NOT" be in there. However, Google Android and the marketplace is owned by Google and not Verizon.
Also, it isn't illegal. It is only against the Verizon TOS. Also, it isn't against the Verizon TOS to use PDANet with your cellphone when your cellphone is connected via WIFI instead of the 3G network.

I have rooted 2 of my X's now with EasyRoot...I tried it on my first one that I was getting a replacement for just to see if it worked, which it did.
Easy Root was the first thing I did when I got my new one in the mail...Its very simple and it gives you step by step instructions to install Busy Box and Titanium Backup (which was great for restoring my apps on the new phone)!!!
Best damn $0.99 you can spend!
The Droid Did...The X Does!
Well the thread is about tethering. And ppl are talking about using pdanet and wifi tethering. One requires root and the other doesn't. Thread also talks about ppl being afraid of rooting to get wifi tethering. And this reply he made is trying to promote how easy it is to use easy root app. Which in turn is a reply to the root fears of ppl that want wifi tethering. So thats how I think it is connected to op, lol well at least imo.
Android 2.2 leak installed. Now just waiting for 928droid theme for 2.2!
