To use rom manager in a blur based rom... You'll need bootstrap

No... you can use it to flash droid x, x(2nd init)(only of on a an appropriate rom and droid 2 recovery...

It makes things a bit easier, since you can select the file you want to flash from within Android, rather than picking it once you're in CWM Recovery. I love it, honestly.
