How to turn off phone function (Use data on wifi only)

I have found the easy ways to turn on/off the wifi, bluetooth, and gps, but have not found a way to turn off the phone, and just surf via wifi. Will need this for flights, as they offer wifi on board. Any advice? Thanks

Simple solution that I didn't even think of. I guess the engineers realize that in airplane mode you can use wifi. Thanks again

By turning your phone off I assume you mean the 3G network. If that is the case you can download JuiceDefender. It comes with a toggle widget that allows 3 settings:
    1. Mobile Network On
    2. Mobile Network managed by JuiceDefender (saves battery by only having mobile network on at certain intervals).
    3. Mobile Network Off (allowing you to use only WiFi).

If you want to turn off all signals so you an still play games, etc. use the Airplane Mode.
