screen timeout question

hey all, whenever i have my phone in the car dock and miss a call the display will stay on. now normally i wouldnt mind if i was in the vehicle but i drive a gas tanker and when i am out dropping a load of gas it can take upto 30-40 min and with the screen on and the phone charging and the sun shinning that sucker gets hot.

ive adjusted the screen time out to 30 seconds and that works fine when i make a call or use the audio book player but the screen never times out when i miss a call. is there another setting that i need to adjust

by the way i dont have the stay awake option checked
