I'm gonna add my info to this thread since I've read the whole thing and am still in the dark on the issue, just doing a copy/paste from my other thread...

I have had a BH6X for a little while now and can't get it to do anything whatsoever. It will go from 5-20-60% then the screen goes off with a high pitched ringing sound. I've left it charging all night plugged into the wall and still no luck. It's like it just will not take a charge no matter what. I'd really like to be able to use it because I could use the extra battery life at times. Right now my stock unit is doing okay so I'm not too desperate but I'd just like to get some use out of this $50 OEM battery and OEM cover I purchased for my phone. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance...

    Btw it is an SNN5880A.

    1. My bar code reads snn5880A
    2. If you charge your phone to 100% (preferably to the max voltage too, ~4.2) does the meter drain to 5%/1% long before the phone actually runs out of juice? No, all it does it drop off at 58 to 49%, then 28 to 19%. Not sure why.
    3. If you want, post what ROM you are using, though I don't think it matters. Liberty 3

Does the BH6X SNN5880 require a new battery door? Why does the door cost almost twice as much as the battery? ($20, vs $11 for battery).

The BH5X costs less than $6 (including shipping at Amazon).

I hear the newer firmware updates for the phone can detect a non-Motorola battery, and may not charge them, so insist on original Motorola branding.

If you get the extended battery get the door. The stock door will probably fit but it places pressure on the screen leading to a rainbow effect on the display and can potentially cause permanent damage.

Maybe somebody can make some sense of my particular situation as it directly conflicts to all existing data.

Now recently I bought an OEM extended battery to replace the stock one that came with the phone since that one has completely dropped off in capacity and between 80 and 40 percent would be completely missing. Just go straight from 80 to 40 every time.

Now yesterday I got the extended batter in the mail. OEM, looks clean. Came with zero charge so it took me a little bit for the phone to charge it up enough to turn on. Did check it before putting it in and it says it is a 5893A model but is also distinctly marked MB810 which should just be the X. For the hell of it I left it in the phone anyways and took it with me to work last night. Everything I have read has said it will still work fine and operate until the battery is actually depleted, just the battery meter will be way off and like the original battery will drop off in percentage at some point.

Throughout the night it has fared well under light use with a steady depletion and as noted in the attached screenshots, still at 45% after 10 hours. I can let it drain itself down to single digits and see if it cuts out where it should or lasts longer?

I wonder if it needs to be calibrated. I got one for my dx and it would last me at least 24 hours.

@cr08 - I believe my situation is the exact opposite of yours. You have a 5893A and your battery meter correctly reports the charge left on your battery.

I just bought a 5880A, and my battery meter doesnt correctly show the charge left on the battery.

Instead, it shows the battery rapidly discharging to 1% (within 2-4 hrs), then phone continues to function fine with the indicator at 1% for the rest of the day. Of course, the blinking red light is very annoying.

Has your 5893A continued to have it's charge accurately reflected by your phone's battery meter?

As an aside, battery calibration is a myth. At least, for purposes of making the indicator understand how much charge is left in a battery. https://plus.google.com/u/0/10505198...ts/FV3LVtdVxPT

Yeah, the battery meter continues to report accurately. Maybe not to the length as most are accustomed to but it is a smooth and gradual drop. In comparison to what I was getting on the original battery before it degraded to what it is now, it seems to be where it should be. At the very least it isn't rapidly dropping to 1-10%. One of these days though I will let it drop on its own til it hits that point and see if it shuts off or holds.

Thanks for the super quick reply. Very glad to hear yours is still working!

I just noticed that my battery says it's a model MOTMB810BATX (which makes me think that it's for the atrix), after all the DROID X model number is just MOTMB810B.

What MODEL does your battery say on the back?
