[UPDATE] Eliminating ads successfully (for the most part)

It seems that a lot of people have been having trouble eliminating ads recently. Here is how I am almost pretty sure I got rid of most ads!


Open up the Market, hit the menu button, choose "Settings," and un-select the "Receive interest-based ads."


In conjunction with the free "AdFree Android" app (which requires root access), this should eliminate a majority of the ads that are pestering you, it has at least worked out pretty well for me so far.


That's it! Hopefully this works for you!

Also not that after you flash a new ROM, you will have to go back in and disable it once again.

Also, Flashers take note, switch ROMs the setting gets re-enabled by default, don't forget to go in and disable after each flash

Im willing to bet ad free does the job of market > settings.. which isn't available on lgbv8

Liberty might have taken the option out to begin with un-enabled it by default. And yes, AdFree does a great job, but ads still showed up in some ROM's other than Liberty and also on stock GB ROM as well. As far as the option not being there to begin with on Liberty is probably like I said, Liberty took it out.
