    Stock media player questions

Hey folks, I noticed that when I use wired headphones in my X my battery seems to drain rather quickly as opposed to when I don't use headphones or don't listen to music. At first I thought it might be the headphones (low-end skullcandy) then I tried some others with the same effect. Not upset, just curious.. Is it my phone/the way I am using it? Or is this normal?

I haven't noticed this at all. I am constantly listening to music with headphones and without. I also have low end skill candy's. My rasta ones broke so I bought a pair for $15. Battery drain has stayed consistent between listening with headphones and listening without. How fast is your battery drain compared to usual on average?

The drain on battery is noticeable but not exactly inconvenient. For instance, at my school in between classes we are allowed to listen to music, also many of my teachers are "chill" and allow us to listen to music provided we stay on task. By the end of the day (with phone kept on airplane mode for 3/4 of the school day) I will have approximately 50%-60% charge remaining for the remainder of the day.

That doesn't seem normal. I've listened to music for 6 hours straight on my phone and my phone had just dropped to the 80% mark. Is your brightness turned down and all that good stuff? Since you're using it sporadically throughout the day, it could just be the constant turning on and off of the screen. Make sure window animations are off and all that. Also I think the media effects drain the battery, so if you're using them try turning them off for a day and see if your battery life improves.

Edit: My high school had a signal blocker to prevent kids from using their phones, I had a couple classes I could turn airplane mode off to text and all that, because I had a good signal. If I left airplane mode off for an entire day, my phone would be dead. And that was with the OG Droid, which had almost double the battery life this phone has.

My school is very liberal when it comes to texting I usually have a pretty good connection. I did some testing and I have surmised that it.music be just my phone because music drains my phone quickly. However, yesterday Verizon sent me a new X on them. Same battery and different phone but I'm hoping it will make a difference. Ill let you know within the next few days.
