Adding convenience to Android Widgets and Home screen setups
If any of you have used Launcher Pro or ADW and flash Roms every now and then you're most likely familiar with the pain of re-adding all your widgets and settings. As we know Android has a slight limitation with widgets which just so happens to be one of the greatest features available on smartphones these days.
So what IF Google could incorporate a way for us to preserve our home screens and settings as is? Maybe we as a community can use our voice to gain some acknowledgment on this. I'm sure Google can pull this off if we can manage to bring it to their attention.
Correct me if I missed anything and voice your ideas!

Sounds like a Dev problem and not a Google problem.

Both ADW and Launcher Pro have backup and restore options for your homescreens and settings. The only thing it can't restore is your widgets, but your icons, dock, settings, etc. can all be restored.
Or if you backup your launcher's data with Titanium backup, it would restore your homescreens and settings too...
And Mybackup Pro has options to backup and restore homescreens if you are using the stock launcher...

It's a Google issue: "problem loading widget" there is nothing Devs can do about it. In the Launcher Pro menu before doing a restore it's mentioned "due to limits in Android". Unless it is possible to keep your home screen widgets without re adding them after a restore then I just didn't know about that but I'm 90% percent sure that you can't do this with Android. I've flashed plenty of Roms and restoring my home screen was one of the pains that comes with it. What if we could hit restore and everything was back to normal? That is my main point here which is to simply add convenience. Just an idea.
Edit: So MyBackup does let you restore your home screens back to normal and apparently it's just an issue with 3rd party home screen replacements?
