Any way to tell if you've got the 'SMS wrong recepient' bug?

The bug I'm referring to is the one where you send a text message to one person but someone entirely different and unintended gets it. I THINK I might have this, but have never gotten any texts back from people like "what?". The reason I think I do is because sometimes when I tap a conversation in my SMS app, another conversation comes up. So for example, if I tap a conversation intending to text person A, person B's conversation comes up. I can see their name at the top, their picture in the thread etc.. but can simply hit the back key to return to my main messages view and correctly select the person I want to text, and it'll then show the correct name and profile picture in that thread, so I can send the text to them.

Is this the bug? Or is it actually - you SEND the message to person A but person B gets it, completely unknown to the sender and person A?
