Droid X and its supposed firewall

The Nexus One cant be hacked to use Verizons network. It is a GSM phone and Verizon uses CDMA. Sure you might pay less on Sprint but you wont be as satisfied with service and such.

Nexus One would be if I did NOT go with Sprint. If I went with Sprint, I'd get an Evo. Of course, these Galaxy S phones that are upcoming look attractive too, but I don't want to wait much longer. As for Evo, it's CDMA and not GSM - it already roams on Verizon's network. It just doesn't default to it but you can hack it to default to it as well.

I agree, I *think* root will come. However, no unlimited tethering is absolutely a deal-breaker for me. If PdaNet (or equiv) doesn't work and it's not rooted within 30 days, I'll return it and go somewhere else. 2GB for $20/mo + $50/GB overages is not an option I'm willing to accept. That is just FAR too expensive.

Well i just tried Easy Tether and it works just fine (posting this reply from my tethered laptop), so this firewall does not affect such tethering solutions.

I agree.. but why wouldn't it work?... really think the firewall app will be stopping that stuff?

Here is the issue. Again "root may never be achieved" the person who said that brought root to he droid and leaked froyo and has contacts inside Moto

Well... maybe you could convince him, to convince the moto contacts to leak the custom software that is required to fix a bricked phone haha jk jk.

its just a matter of time... i mean yeah right now it seems like its taking so long.. but in 3 days (in counting) thousands of people will be owning an X, most will be wanting to hack into it as well...
