just cracked the screen on my droid X

get the screen fixed and hold out for the bionic? (not impressed with the body of the phone though)

If you waited a couple weeks for a thunderbolt, what would you do with the X? Throw it away?

If you have insurance, get the X replaced either way...then you will at least have a phone to sell if you want to upgrade

There is a tutorial on how to replace it yourself if you are brave enough. Can't hurt if you are planning to trash it anyway.

no insurance on the phone. i thought about replacing it myself but dont even want to attempt it.

i just canceled my order with a repair service. ill probably get the thunderbolt and sell my cracked X for like $100-150.

dropped it from about 4 feet from the floor. fell flat on the screen and shattered.

Oooh.. I just came on this thread because I felt bad. I dropped my Droid-X once and time seemed to go into slow motion as I watched it fall to the pavement... somehow mine didn't break.. I was lucky. Sorry for your loss. Try and max out your bucks on ebay, sell it quick before newer models come out and the value drops. Did you ever get a chance to really use it. Maybe if you knew its overclock capabilities people would find it more enticing to buy.

im feeling your pain, i broke my x saturday, basically the same way i dropped it and tried to catch it. it landed flat on the floor and SHATTERED. i reordered before 11 pm on fri had a replacement sat at 10 am. Asurion is fast, but i got a bad x, the physical buttons wouldnt work. my x was great no problems at all, so im sitting here sad using my x with a shattered screen. have to send two back to them and wait on a working one. i have it bad still trying to use it like a crack head, i cant wait until tomorrow it took two days to ship because i re ordered on Sunday man seems like i lost my best friend......i did Im singing....... Im alone my X is gone.

Ouch! This is why I've decided to pay for the monthly insurance plan. Also, after many years of using my phone to tell time, I've broke down a started wearing a wrist watch. I figured the less times I have to whip out my DX for something, the fewer chances of accidentally dropping it :-)
