I am using quickclock to undervolt/overclock. I turned Juicedefender off to see if the undervolting gives me the same battery life as juice defender. So far my results seem to indicate I dont need to use both, plus I got tired of the 3g connection lag with Juicedefender.

Everything.. lol. It automates tasks, depending on various initiation conditions. Like app related: when I start maps, GPS turns on, and off when I exist. Or state related: when I plug headphones in, volume increase and launches pandora. The list goes on forever. Tasker does anything you want it to. You can even turn your tasks into widgets.

It even has gesture initiated tasks, move your phone a certain way, and start a task. You can make custom menus,.... everything....

Thanks for the intro Wug. I may have to invest in Tasker.

Consider it this way, your paying 5 bucks or whatever it is, for as many apps as you can think of.

Taskers advanced profiles are difficult to understand, but they are easy to implement with their wiki site. I prefer it for simple tasks controlling screen brightness, timeout, gps, dependent on charge state or apps used. The multidude of combinations available in Tasker is nice but difficult to conceptualize and use properly without a serious time investment. And its not without its quirks when switching profiles. With the screen off the exit profiles wont switch over when changing charge state. Of course I found a work around through tasked.

JD (with its new UI) is a bit easier to use the wifi location feature and control of the radios.

I'm going to have to take a look at Tasker. I have Juice Defender and the 3G lag is very obnoxious.

I had a look at the profiles that replace JD or in my case Superpower, I can't get them to work right a little experimentation's gonna have to take place here.

I think I ended up ditching them in the end, because I am always using 3G: listening to Slacker Radio, web browsing, Tapatalk... so I don't need it turning off. I have profiles for switching to WiFi, and dealing with screen brightness. But the best ways to increase battery life, are display brightness adjustments, undervolting, and editing systctl.config
