z4root being detected as virus containing exploit.lotor.g virus

I'm sorry to say that Kaspersky identifies z4root as containing the exploit.linux.lotor.g virus.

Now, I know that many perfectly valid files are detected as a virus by anti-virus vendors so I'm not accusing anyone of installing a virus into the file. But I think an explanation in this forum would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

Said the same thing for me with Kaspersky. I chalked it up to the fact that Z4 uses a backdoor exploit to root the X and kaspersky detects it. I used it anyway and its been about a month with no issues at all. I think that the only phones that dont have to have an exploit used on them to root is the nexus phones made by google. Theres another thread about this somewhere on the board too.

It's a "false positive" so to speak. Remember, this app is an intentional EXPLOIT, so of course a few companies regard it as such.

No need to double post this, of course an AV questions it, it's a hack. 250,000+ people used it when it was on the market and plenty since its removal.

You are raising questions over a proven app...
Like I said on the z4root thread, most hack apps will show up as a false postive on some Antivirus programs (mainly Kaspersky) running "WINDOWS"
I guarantee this isnt the first time you've gotten a false postive with Kaspersky.

Are there even any known 'android viruses' or would they just be apps that shadily send private info to a server and not even be deemed a virus because you give apps their permissions when you install then in the first place?
